Each year the Suburban Garden Club of Cheshire offers two $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing degrees at an accredited college or agricultural school with a declared major in a plant related science (e.g., horticulture, plant science, environmental science or related fields). One scholarship is offered to a Cheshire High School graduating senior, and one is offered to a Cheshire resident already attending college.
Academic performance, character, financial need and enthusiasm for the chosen field of study will be the factors weighed in determining recipient(s).
Members of the Suburban Garden Club of Cheshire and offspring may not apply as Section 501C of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code states that tax-exempt organizations may not financially benefit from the organization.
