In-Club Scholarships
​
The Suburban Garden Club is pleased to offer up to three scholarships annually to members who successfully complete and pass the exam for any of the following courses offered by the Federated Garden Club of Connecticut:

ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES SCHOOLS: A series of four courses in environmental studies. Students completing the courses may become NGC Environmental Consultants. Click here to link to the FGCCT website for more information about these courses.

FLOWER SHOW SCHOOLS: A series of courses intended to train members to become accredited Flower Show Judges. Click here to link to the FGCCT website for more information about these courses.

GARDENING STUDY SCHOOLS: Focus on helping members become accomplished horticulturists. Courses cover all aspects of growing from understanding soil structure to pruning techniques, plant identification, etc. Students completing the courses may become Gardening Study Consultants. LANDSCAPE DESIGN STUDY SCHOOL: A series of four 10-hour courses. The course curriculum covers the history of landscape design as well as instruction from landscape architects in a variety of design techniques used in home and municipal settings. To apply for a scholarship, members must fill out a cash disbursements form, attaching proof of successful course completion and then submit the form to either the SGC President or SGC Scholarship Chairperson for approval. Click here for a copy of the Cash Disbursements form.
