Suburban Garden Club's Community Projects

For more than 50 years, the Suburban Garden Club of Cheshire has been making a positive contribution to our community through numerous civic programs and activities.  Current civic improvement programs include:
  • Designing and maintaining a garden in conjunction with the Cheshire Beautification Committee's 'Adopt a Spot' program
  • Supporting the efforts of the Delaware Federated Garden Clubs to establish a Memorial Garden at Dover Air Force Base.
  • Conducting 'Garden Therapy' workshops for members of the Cheshire Senior Center and residents at Highland Healthcare Center
  • Designing and maintaining period gardens at the Phillips House Historical Society  and decorating the interior with period-appropriate decorations for their annual holiday open house
  • Decorating the Ronald McDonald House for the holidays
  • Designing and maintaining seasonal plant displays at the Cheshire Senior Center  
  • Granting annual scholarships to Cheshire students pursuing degrees in horticulture or environmental studies
