Suburban Garden Club's Adopt-a-Spot
The Suburban Garden Club plays an active and ongoing role in making Cheshire a cleaner and greener community through sponsorship of a "spot" designated for adoption by the Town Beautification Committee.
Members of the club design and plant the 'adopt a spot' garden and then meet periodically at the adopted location -- currently the 'Yellow House" across from Cheshire High School -- to water, weed and perform general maintenance to ensure the garden always looks beautiful.
Club sponsorship is recognized with a sign posted at the location with the club name on it. In 2008, the Town Beautification Committee awarded SGC a blue ribbon for its 'adopted' garden at the South End Fire House, designating it the "most beautiful spot"!
